“What do I do if I feel like my job isn’t fulfilling?”
Dear LN,
Here’s the thing. It totally fine if your job doesn’t feed your passions. It can just be the thing that gives you the money to do what you are really passionate about. The thing is, you have to feed that passion, cultivating it with the same effort and care that you put into your career.
It is a very good thing to have things that fulfill you that are not tied to how you earn your livelihood. Your job and your career can change radically over time, but your life is always your life. Prioritize accordingly.
Here’s another thing. Even in the most fulfilling job, there are elements of the job, or seasons in your career that won’t feel great. In fact, you might hate them. That’s totally normal, and totally fine. Nothing is ever always sunshine and roses.
